Telekom Malaysia reports 1Q05 net earnings down 26% to $99m, and sales up 5% to $897m.
MTS (Russia) announced its net profit rose 12% to $232m with revenues growing 32% to $1.1bn. EBITDA rose 22% to $537m, but EBITDA margin declines 4 points to 51%. ARPU fell 35.5% yoy to $9.1 and 19% qoq.
TMN (Portugal Telecom mobile arm) unveiled 2005 guidance. With costs increasing (SAC/ SRC costs, acceleration of the roll-out of the 3G network,..) and flat sales at best (reduction in termination fees), EBITDA should decline some 5% to 10% in 2005. TMN capex is expected to increase to a range of 200-220 m in 200 5, as a result of a faster rollout of the 3G network.
Vimplecom (Russia) posted net income climbing 45% to $110m, while revenues jumped 55% to $641m. ARPU declined 33% to $7.3. Capex was $288m
UMC (Ukraine) announced its 1Q05 net profit jumped 36% to $58m, while revenues rose 54% to $238m. OIBDA increased 34% to $112m. Capex amounted to $107m.
