Subscriber figures - 21st May 2005

BT currently has some 5m broadband subscribers (up 261k in 1Q05).

Viettel (Vietnam) reached 400K subscribers at the end of April, and with a 50% discount plan expects to reach 500k at he end of this month and 1.3m by year-end.

Econet (Zimbabwe) reached about 250k subscriber base and expects to have 500k users by year-end.

China Mobile added 3.2m new subscribers in April, to reach a total of 217m mobile users.

China Unicom reported a GSM user base of 87.9m at the end of April, up 880k, and a CDMA user base of 29.9m, up 490k.
