Telefonica currently has 140m subscribers (including 9m from Ceski Telecom). It has 3.5m ADSL users (up 56%), of which 2.1m in Spain and 1.5m in LATAM. Cellular users reached 81.4m at the end of the quarter (up 50%), of which 59m in LATAM, 19m in Spain, and 3.2m in Morocco.
AIS (Thailand) had 15.5m mobile subscribers at the end of March.
SMARTS (Russia) subscriber base rose 5% to 2.1m in April.
Swiwwcom Mobile signed its four-millionth customer and serves more than half the population of Switzerland.
Indonesia has a penetration of 12% or about 28m mobile customers.
China is expected to have 34m broadband subscribers by the end of the year and about 57m by 2007. Internet users just reach 99m. Fixed penetration is about 26% and mobile penetration is 25%. The users of mobile phone and fixed phone have increased to 674m, the largest around the world.
Korea's digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) mobile TV subscribers reach 20,000 since the launch at the beginning of the month of May.
Telkomsel (Indonesia) expects to have 20m mobile subscribers by the end of June this year.
Brazil registered 71m mobile subscribers, adding some 2.1m new users in April. GSM reached a 40% market share with 28.4m users. Outdated TDMA accounts for 30% market share with 21m users, and CDMA accounts for 29% with 21m users.
Vodafone has 151m proportionate customers in 26 countries.
Vietnam mobile user base is currently estimated to 5m and could double in next three years.
