Orascom (Egypt) announced 41m (+93%) mobile subscribers as of 30 June 2006.

UK internet penetration up 5% to 13.9m households, or 57% penetration.

Hutchison now has 13.5 m subscribers globally (3.8m in the UK, 6.8m in Italy).

China Unicom said its total mobile customer base was 136m at the end of July.

Maxis (Malaysia) mobile customer base grew 75% to 11.7m, of which 8.5m in Malaysia.
