North American capex

Ovum posted its analysis of 2Q06 revenue and capital spending by North American network operators. Wireline operators increased capital spending ($7.5bn) by 16% yoy, in spite of a 5% decline in 1H06 revenues ($43.6bn). Mobile operators cut their capex ($5.3bn) by 18%, while revenues ($32.8bn) grew 12% on the period. In 1H06, wireline capex grew 18%.
