Operator results 05-14-05
T-Online reports sales of 509m, up 4%, EBITDA dropping 18% to 97m and after-tax profit of 62m, down 22%.
T-Mobile USA posted 1Q05 net income of $103m, $826m in operating income (OIBDA), up 60%, and revenues of $3.4bn. Services revenues were up 4% to $2.85bn. ARPU was $54, slightly down from $55. Its capex in the quarter was $376m, down 11%.
DT said its 1Q05 net profit grew 60% to 1bn, on revenues rising 3.5% to 14.4bn. Earnings and revenues were fueled by T-Mobile USA. EBITDA grew 5% to 4.9bn. DT forecasts capex to be 7.5-8bn. Fixed-line voice service revenues continue sliding 2% to 5.5bn.
Telemig (Brazil) posted 1Q05 net profit of $13m (+4%), on revenues of $106m (down 8%). EBITDA was down 28% to $ 39m. EBITDA margin lost 10 points to 40%. ARPU was down 27% to $10.7.
Telecom Argentina (Argentina) announced 1Q05 net profit of $ 96m (+125%). Its mobile revenues rose 53% to $190m.
Bharti Tele-Ventures (India) reported a 132% jump in net profit to $333m, with revenues climbing 61% to $1.8bn.
Hanaro Telecom (S th Korea) announced $15m operating profit (down 40%), on sales up 2.5% to $357m. Net profit was $5m, vs. loss of $5m a year ago.
StarHub (Singapore) announced record net profit of $19m (vs. loss of $22m) on revenues of $231m, up 16%. Revenues are made of 52% mobile services, 17% of CATV services and 11% of broadband services.
NTT reported FY 2005 revenues of $103bn, down 3%, and net profit of $6.8bn (up 10%). Operating income dropped 22% to $11.6bn. While revenues fall was attributed to DoCoMo sales and fixed line business contractions, earning growth is attributed to the sale of shares in ATT Wireless.
Swisscom (CH) said its 1Q05 net profit was up 7% to $508m, while sales were slightly down to $2bn.
Telewest (UK) announced 1Q05 net income of £1m (vs. loss), and revenues of £338m, up 3%. EBITDA grew 10% to £134m. Triple play penetration grew 11 points to 30%.
Telefonica Moviles (Spain) reported a jump of 39% in revenues to 3.7bn, a growth of 41% in service revenues, and a growth of 19% in OIBDA to 1.3bn. Net profit was 432m. Latam contributed 44% to revenues (+135%) and its OIBDA rose 160% to 353m.
TOT (Thailand) posted revenues of $400m (+1%) and net profit of $66m.
Volga Telecom (Russia) announced net profit increasing 18% to $22m on revenues growing 17% to $183m.
Terra Networks, Telefonica Spain ISP arm, reported sales of 113m (up 11%) and net loss of 1.6m (up from loss of 38m in 1Q04). OIBDA rose to 14.3m.
Fastweb (Italy) posted 194m in 1Q05 revenues (up 23%) and a loss of 48m (from 38m). EBITDA was 60m, up 28%. ARPU was 75.8, almost flat.
Tiscali (Italy) announced 1Q05 revenues of 240m, up 10%, and narrowed its loss by 65% to 18m. EBITDA was down 11% to 21m. Tiscali expects to sell in 2005 its Spanish unit, its European network infrastructure Tinet, and its Excite portal.
