China Unicom posted a net 1Q05 profit of $128m (down 26%).

 

Telemar (Brazil) reported 1Q05 net income of $76m, down 12%, on revenues of $ 1.58bn, up 8.5%. EBITDA was $660m, up 2.2%. Local call revenues account for about 75% and mobile revenues for 15% of total revenues.  

 

Qwest (US) announced a net income of $57m (thanks to a gain of $ 257m from a wireless asset sale to Verizon Wireless), while revenues went down 1% to $3.45bn.

 

Sunrise (USA) reported 1Q05 sales of $ 11.7m, down 15%, and e net loss of $5m. Gross margin was 66%.

 

Time Warner Telecom (USA) announced 1Q05 revenues of $172m (+2%), and a net loss of $35m (up 3%).

 

TDC (Denmark) posted €1.5bn in 1Q05 revenues, (up9%), and €135m in net income (up 5%). EBITDA was €413.3m,up 9%. Its capex increased 6% to €152m.

 

Iliad (France) reported €163m in revenues in the quarter (up 56%).

 

Bezeq (Israel) announced a 1Q05 net profit of €49m (up 66%), on revenues of €482m, up 38%.

 

Bell Canada posted 1Q05 revenues of $3.05bn, up 4.8%, EBITDA of $ 1.18bn (+5%) and a net income of $295m (almost flat).

 

SingTel (Singapore) announced 1Q05 results of $641m in net income (down 47%) and net revenues of $2bn (up 2.6%).

 

PilTel (Indonesia) posted $41m in 1Q05 net income (vs. loss) and revenues of $70m (up19%).

 

PLDT (Indonesia) reported 1Q05 net profit of $173m (up 64%) on revenues of $543m (up 4.4%). Fixed line revenues were $218m (down 2%). 1Q05 capex was $ 44m.

 

Telus (Canada) posted 1Q05 earnings of $151m, up 140%, on revenues of $1.2bn, up 9.5%. EBITDA was $533m.
