SBC currently has 5.6m DSL subscribers (up 10%) and 52 million access lines in service and 22m long distance lines (up 20%).

Verizon Communications has 3.9m broadband connections, up 48%.

Verizon Wireless said it has 45.5m customers, up 17%.

Iusacell (Mexico) reported 1.55m customers (up 19%). 

China Mobile currently has 214m GSM subscribers.

Teliasonera has 26m customers.

China Telecom posted 195m phone users, up 4% from the end of 2004, of which 47.8m are PHS.

LG Telecom reported a mobile subscriber base of 6.1m.

TIM Brazil has 5.94m subscribers, up 33%.

America Movile (LATAM) reaches 66.3m subscriber mark at the end of March.

Covad has about 547k broadband lines in service, up 3% qoq.

Kyrgyztelecom had 400k subscribers at the end of 2004.

Nextel (US) had 17m subscribers in March.

France: internet subscribers account for 11.9m, up 12%, of which 6.5m broadband, up 83%. 92% of broadband users were using ADSL, and 7% cable modem.

Europe: DSL subscriber number rose 85% in one year to 33.6m; mobile subscribers increased 15% to 373m; access lines rose 3% to 260m;
