A few set of market information released this week:

  • According to ABI Research, more than 500m users are expected to subscribe to mobile TV in the world by 2011, up from 6.4m at the end of 2005. In-Stat forecasts 100m+ users by the end of 2010.

  • Juniper Research forecasts that mobile games could generate $17.6bn in revenue by 2011, up from $3bn in 2006.

  • TelecomView forecasts 88m WiMAX subscribers by 2011, and $43bn in revenues by that date. 60% of subscribers should be in developing countries.

  • According to In-Stat, the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) market should reach $14bn and 72m users in the US by 2011.

  • Analysys estimates that fixed and mobile videotelephony services could reach 110m users in Western Europe by 2011, and €3.5bn in revenues.

  • Strategy Analytics found that Motorola is leading the global Bluetooth headset market with about 28%, followed by Jabra with 16.3% and Plantronics with 12.3%.

  • According to Compass Intelligence, US businesses are ready to invest heavily in wireless services and applications to boost productivity,
