Ericsson announced a contract with Celcom (mobile unit of Telekom Malaysia) to upgrade its GSM network. It will also expand the EDGE network of Malaysia's DiGi Telecommunications.

Nokia will deploy a GSM network in British Virgin Islands for C&W.

Nortel has been awarded a GSM expansion contract by Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC).

ZTE has won a CDMA upgrade contract from Oceanic Digital Jamaica (ODJ) to supply CDMA2000 EV-DO.
