Svyazinvest (Russia) posted 2004 revenues of $6.5bn, up 23%, while net profit was down 10% to $611m.
Embratel (Brazil) announced 1Q05 net profit of $ 17m, up from $2m, on net revenues of $738m (flat). EBITDA was up 3.6% to $180m. Its revenue is made 55% of domestic long distance services, 24% of data services.
Viacom (US) reported 1Q05 revenues of $5.6bn (up 5%) and operating income of $1.1bn (up 7%). Net earnings were down 5.5% to $585m. Free cash flow was down 2% to $828m. Cable networks and TV account for 69% of total revenues, and advertising sales account for 61%.
M1 (Singapore) reported sales of $105.5m in 1Q05, with EBITDA of $49m (+8.5%), and net profit of $24.5m (down 14%).
Sprint said its 1Q05 net profit more than double to $472m on revenues of $ 6.94bn, up 3%. Local phone service was nearly flat at $1.5bn, while long distance services account for $1.7bn (down 10%). PCS unit accounts for 55% of total sales
Cingular posted 1Q05 revenues of $8.2bn (Cingular +ATT Wireless), up 5% pro forma, and a net loss of $240m. ARPU decreased 3.3% to $49.6.
Telstra (Australia) posted 1Q05 revenues of $4bn (up 3.3%), of which $1.45bn from fixed line, $0.77bn from mobile line, $0.27bn from internet and broadband data.
Neuf Telecom (France) said its net loss widened in 2004 to 49m, largely due to exceptional depreciation charges (without charges it should have been a 2m income). 2004 revenues were 1.2bn and operating income rose 20% to 121m. Revenues are made 21% of high-speed ADSL services (246m), 39% of businesses services (461m and 30k SMEs), and 39% of wholesale operations (464m).
China Mobile posted 1Q05 revenues of $6.6bn, up 30%, and EBITDA of $3.58bn (+22%). Net profit rose 20% to $ 1.36bn. Its ARPU fell 2% to $10.7.
Bellsouth reported 1Q05 earnings reaching $1.06bn (down 36%) on revenues of $ 5.1bn (up 2%).
COLT (UK) announced that 1Q05 revenues increased by 1.4% to £307m, while EBITDA decreased 22% to £37m.
ATT reported net income of $529m (up 74%), and on consolidated revenues of $7bn (down 12%) of which $5.3bn from the Business unit and $ 1.7bn from the Consumer unit. EBITDA was flat at $1.7bn, with a margin of 24.3%.
CTC (Chile) posted a profit of $14m in 1Q05, up 125%, on revenues of $ 238m. EBITDA was $ 121m and EBITDA margin was 51%.
China Telecom announced 1Q05 revenues of $4.9bn.
