DT and German pay-TV broadcaster Premiere have agreed on a strategic partnership to provide IPTV services.

Econet (pan-African operator) has acquired a controlling stake in Burundi operator ST Cellular.

Xfera (Spain) is talking  with Teliasonera in a last attempt to save its 3G license in Spain. Xfera has difficulties to achieve license conditions and start services before the dead line.

Telmex Peru plans to launch fixed wireless services in Lima and Callao in 4Q06. The license requires to install 7,000 lines in the 16 districts in Lima and Callao.

NTT, NTT East, NTT West, and  DoCoMo (all in Japan), plan a vigorous initiative to add 7,000 base stations for wireless Internet connection services in 12 months to their combined existing 8400 hotspots. All hotspots will be available to all NTT global customers.

Wengo (France) will launch version 2.0b of its VOIP service, including interoperability with other IM and VOIP services.
