TComm UK should launch its TELLYfoneSM mobile TV service.

 

TNZ (New Zealand) is launching video clips service.

 

S-Fone (Vietnam) plans to invest an additional $35m to increase its service network to cover the whole of Vietnam by the end of this year.

 

TDC and Telfort (NL) would launch easyMobil in Holland during the summer of 2005. TDC is targeting three new country launches per year.

 

Telefonica Moviles Peru received the green light from Peru's Transportation and Communications Ministry for its merger with BellSouth Peru, but under some conditions (returning one of its bands to the government within two years). Telefonica is analyzing conditions. The new entity would control 70% of Peru’s mobile market.

 

PTC (Poland) is launching new UMTS/WLAN services for a fixed monthly fee.

 

Orange has launched EDGE service covering 85% of the French population. Orange has increased its stake in Orange Romania to 96% for a total cash of $523m.

 

China Unicom should invest $4.8bn in 2005 in network expansion (mainly network coverage), while China Mobile announced it would invest $ 7.5bn also in network expansion. China Unicom will launch its Worldwind GSM/CDMA dual-mode card service at the end of this month. The card enables cellphone users to freely switch between CDMA and GSM networks.

 

China Netcom said it is certain to secure a 3G mobile license.
