Etisalat (UAE) has 3.9m mobile subscribers, 1.2m fixed lines and 430k internet connections.

 

China Netcom, by the end of 2004, had 6.2m broadband Internet access service subscribers; 80.4m fixed lines subscribers, of which 15.1m PHS subscribers.

 

Vimpelcom had 26.6m mobile subscribers by the end of the year 2004.

 

Hanaro (S. Korea) reports its broadband user base grew to 2.7m in March.

 

KDDI (Japan) announced its 3G subscriber base reached 18m on April 6, 2005, on a total 21m mobile subscribers. It also has 9m fixed-line subscribers (MyLine).

 

DoCoMo (Japan) raised its subscriber base to 48.8m in March (up 480k).

 

India has crossed the 100 million mark of telephone subscribers (52.3m mobile and 46m fixed), with a global teledensity of about 9%.

 

Celtel, pan-African mobile operator, has 6m subscribers, adding some 200K new users per month.

 

Telecom Italia has 5.2m broadband users.

 

Vietnam has more than 5m mobile phone subscribers. Vinaphone, MobiFone, S-Fone and Viettel currently have 2.5m, 2.2m, 230k and 300k subscribers, respectively.

 

Iusacell (Mexico) has some 1.3m mobile subscribers.

 

Tele.ring (Austria) has 904K mobile users.

 

Turkcell announced it has 24.3m mobile users as of March 2005.
