China Mobile added 4.3m new mobile subscribers in April, bringing its total base to 265m.

BT had 7.9m broadband users at the end of March.

Hutchison Telecom announced 21.1m mobile subscribers (up62%) as of end of March, of which 2m in Hong Kong and Macau, 2.6m in Israel, 15.4m in India (+100%).

Proximus (Belgium) had 4.4m mobile users at the end of 1Q06.

Portugal had 1.3m broadband subscribers (+38%) at the end of March.

Brazil reached over 90m mobile subscribers at the end of April.

Venezuela had a total of 3,7m fixed lines in1Q06, up 8%.

The Dominican Republic reports a telephony penetration of almost 54%, with 4.8m fixed and mobile lines in operation.
