Hutchison Telecom announced 1Q06 net loss of $3m, narrowing from about $13 loss in 1Q2005.
BT reported 1Q06 sales of €3.5bn, up 7%, of which broadband and IT services gained 28% to €1.26bn. EBITDA rose 1% to €1bn, while net profit fell 11% to €267m, due to higher operating costs and the impact of large contracts. Traditional fixed line service revenues continue to fall (about 3%), totally offset by growth in IT services and broadband. Shares grew 8%+.
Belgacom posted €1.5bn in sales, down 4% in spite adding €179m from Telindus. Mobile revenues were €527m, down 1%.Fixed-line unit had normalized EBITDA of €277m, down 8%, and growth in Internet and Telindus network integration services cannot offset the decline in traditional voice services.
Potugal Telecom said its 1Q06 revenues rose 8% to €1.6bn, with EBITDA falling 5% to €587m. Net profit was up 16% to €211m.
