Cisco 1Q06 results

Cisco reported a slightly lower FY3Q net earnings of $1.4bn (down 1%), while sales rose 18% to $7.3bn, helped by the acquisition of Scientific-Atlanta. Proforma, sales grew 12%. Cisco healthy results come mostly from the U.S. and from its advanced technologies, such as IP telephony, wireless (30%+), storage networking, while optical equipment continued to disappoint (-20%).
