Internet in Africa

Current internet penetration in Africa is weak, ca. 2.5%, with about 23m users, according to CIA' s World Factbook. Growth, however is impressive with a CAGR of about 38% since 2000.But the way is yet long to catch up with the rest of the world (average worldwide penetration is at 16%). Egypt is ranked first in Africa with 5m users, followed by South Africa with 3.6m, Morocco with 3.5m and Kenya with 1.5m. The digital divide in Africa will be in a good way to be eliminated when 50%+ of the population will access the Internet. The day after the day, after tomorrow ....
