AAPT, the TNZ unit in Australia, is no more for sale. TNZ will retain the unit, for lack of partners or a right price.

Qualcomm is partnering with BskyB (UK) to test MediaFlo in the UK this summer. They plan to trial 10 channels of BSkyB content on a small number of MediaFlo devices provided by Qualcomm.

ATT targets increasing its broadband Internet and IP-based services, including satellite-based broadband service targeted at rural markets and WiMAX or other fixed wireless solutions. In a first step, ATT is is partnering with WildBlue Communications to sell satellite broadband under its own brand.

Verizon is said to have offered $38bn for Vodafone' s 45% stake in Verizon Wireless. Vodafone has rejected the offer, valuating its assets to $50bn.

Telmex (Mexico) wants to take full control of Brazil' s Embratel in making a cash tender offer for outstanding shares for about $900m.

Altimo (ex Alfa Telecom Group – Russia) announced that Telenor has accepted Altimo's proposal over the possible merger of Vimpelcom and Kievstar.
