Telefonica has signed a content deal with Warner Brothers for its IPTV and video-on-demand (VOD) Imagenio offerings.

BT has launched a major Ethernet equipment RFP for its 21CN NG project.

Colt has also launched an an Ethernet equipment RFP.

FT is said to have launched a new RFP for IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) technology (phase II) and also a GPON (gigabit passive optical network ) RFP for the next stage of its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) pilot.

France Telecom wrote to the EU Commission to revise regulation set up in the 90s. FT argues that the regulation is discouraging operators investing in new networks, wholesale regulation (both in fixed and mobile) is inadequate, and there is a real lack of EU-wide regulation.
