World broadband lines (2004)

The worldwide broadband lines increased by 50m in 2004 to reach 150m. The US remains the world's largest broadband country with 34m lines, followed by China with some 26m lines and Japan with 18m lines. The DSL technology dominates with 97m lines while Cable modems account for 53m. APAC leads subscriber base with about 43%, while Americas and EMEA are close with respectively 29 and 28%.
