Naked DSL

Publié le par Jean Arnal

Naked DSL: it is the term used to describe the situation in which DSL service is provided by a service provider to customers who receive no voice service from this operator, but from another one or no voice service at all: a situation relatively frequent in Europe. As part of the unbundling, the incumbent is forced to provide customer access to a DSL service provider or an ISP. I can have a voice service from FT and a DSL connection from Cegetel or Tiscali.

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has, however, decided that the telcos cannot be forced to provide high-speed Internet service to customers who utilize the competitive carriers for their voice service. Very strange.
