Adding a special medical software into a camera cellphone could transform the handset into an infra-red scanner to achieve do-it-yourself medical test. The equipped handset could provide with medical body images with colored zones according to temperature and oxygen levels. Cellcom (Israel) is testing the technology, invented by Dr Nitzan Yaniv. Before commercial deployment, approval is needed from authorised agencies.
