Online photo albums: Another deal for Kodak. After SFR in France, 3 UK will also offer its mobile photo album. Kodak is very active in the internet photo album and has bought dotPhoto Inc and Ofoto Inc. HP is also interested in this market and has bought SnapFish. Its strategy is perhaps more complete: digital cameras, photo printers, and now photo edition and sharing. With this acquisition, HP has now some 13m of subscribers to its Snapfish service and adds some 500,000 new users per month. Yahoo is also active on this segment. It bought Frickr, a provider of online photo albums, and announced its Yahoo 360 service to allow its 165m users to manage on line photos.
