Subscriber figures - 08/03/06

Idea Cellular (India) had 7m mobile subscribers at the end of February.

At the end of 2005, India had about 75m mobile subscribers, up 56%. It added about 4.7m new subscribers in January, a Chinese-like high-mark.

Argentina: 22.7m mobile lines, up 62%, while 8.8m fixed lines (up 0.5%) were installed.

SMARTS (Russia) announced 3m mobile subscribers.
