Publié le par Jean Arnal

Several African countries are supporting the idea of a tax on new technologies in developed countries to fill the gap of digital divide. This tax, worth of 1% of investments in new technologies made by communities (states, regions, cities,..) in developed countries, will be given to the Digital Solidarity Fund in Geneva. 60% of the total funds collected, worth already some millions of Euros, will be used to help the 49 poorest countries in the world; 30% will be used to help developing countries and 10% for projects in developed countries.
