Etisalat (UAE) had about 4.5m mobile connections (+23%) at the end of 2005.

Virgin Mobile UK had 4.4m subscribers at the end of 2005.

Africa: 113.5m mobile subscribers at end-2005, according to Portio Research.

Bangladesh: expected mobile subscriber base of 18m by 2007 according to BIS Shrapnel.

Pakistan: total mobile subscriber base reached 21.6m at end-2005. Penetration is about at 14%.

Eurotel Praha (Czech Rep.) reported a 4.7m mobile subscriber base at the end of 2005.

Comcast Cable (US) ended the year with 9.8m digital cable subscribers, while basic subscribers declined 0.5% to 21.4 m.
