Vodafone reports almost 180m proportionate customer base, of which 9.1 3G subscribers.
CTC (Chile) announced 314k broadband customers, up 56%, at the end of 2005.
USA have an estimated 195m mobile phone user base, and this could reach 240m by 2009.
Uralsvyazinform (Russia) increased its user base to 3.7m mark, up 80%.
India missed the governmental target to have 3m broadband users at the end of 2005, with only 835k. Access and PC prices are believed to be too high. Recently, offers with PCs and access at a bundled price as little as $10 per month were launched and could eventually boost broadband adoption.
T-Mobile USA added 4.4m new users in 4Q05 to reach 27.1m subscriber base at the end of 2005.
T-Mobile Germany has about 30m mobile users.
Vodacom (S. Africa) had 21.5m customers in five countries (South Africa, Tanzania,DRC, Mozambique and Lesotho).
Verizon currently has 51.3m (+21%) mobile subscribers and 49m landlines (-6.7%).
Maroc Telecom (Morocco) reports 8.8m mobile subscribers and 242K ADSL lines at the end of 2005.
