UWB in two camps

The UWB task force (IEEE 802.15.3a group), that tried to develop a standard for short-range wireless communications at up to 480 Mbit/s, has disbanded after failing to achieve a consensus on two competing proposals from the UWB Forum (Freescale) and the WiMediaT Alliance (multiple vendors). The market will finally decide which version is the strongest, but full interoperability can only come from WiMedia Alliance members.
