Children between the ages of 8 and 12, could become the next hope for the mobile industry, according to the Yankee Group. Today, they account for less than 3% of all cellular users in the US, but Yankee said already 25% of children have a cell phone. Yankee predicts this figure would double by 2010, or could reach a 5-7 million units opportunity. Already mobile operators have started to address this market with a dedicated marketing campaigns and specially-designed handsets.
