Ericsson has signed a contract with Baltic mobile operator BITE Group for the supply of 2G and 3G mobile systems infrastructure in Lithuania and Latvia until 2008. It will build Australia' s Telstra new 3G network under a $760m build and integrate deal.
LG is expecting to increase its mobile phone sales by 25-30% in 2006 to about 68-71m units.
Huawei is providing 3G and broadband equipment in Latin America, for Telefonica,
UTStarcom supplies Vonage with its F1000 portable Wi-Fi handset. The device is sold $80 in retail price.
Ericsson and Lucent have apparently both increased their market share of the Cingular' s HSDPA rollout to 50% each from announced respective 35% and 40%. Siemens seems to be the looser.
