Alcatel has been awarded by Anhui Telecom (China Telecom) the expansion of its metropolitan network across the Anhui Province to deliver triple play services. It may win Australia' s Telstra $2,6bn new fiber-optic network.

Cisco will provide its CRS-1 Carrier Routing System to Comcast for its nationwide backbone network, while Nortel' s next-generation optical solution has been selected.

Axiom and its AXIOSS(R) Suite have been chosen to rollout Triple-Play services for Telekom Austria. The project will be deployed in conjunction with Alcatel.

Zhone Technologies will supply its Multi-Access Line Concentrator to Lafourche Telephone.

Redback Networks is deploying its SmartEdge service gateway platform for Belgacom' s Video-on-Demand network rollout.
