Operator results - 19/11/05
Telecom Argentina reports that 9-month revenues were up 26% to $1,4bn (of which mobile revenues were up 63% to $229m; internet and data revenues were up 11% to $115m), Net income declined 23% to $548m.
Vodafone posted FY 1H05 (march- Sept.) results. Net profit was $4,9bn, up 32%, but warned that its 2007 earnings would be negatively affected by its operations in Japan. Revenues were $31,6bn, up 9%. Vodafone has a proportionate customer base of 171m users.
Polkomtel (Poland) reported 9-month net profit of $252m (up 29%), on revenues of $1,37bn (+10%). EBITDA grew 19% to $ 526m.
Telekom Austria posted 9-month revenues up 6% to €3,2bn, operating income of €559m (+36%); EBITDA up 10% to €1,37bn; and net income of €375m (+86%).
Virgin Mobile (UK) announced FY1H06 revenues of €406m, up 7%, and net income of €41m, up 40%.
Vimpelcom (Russia) reports 9-month revenues of $2,3bn (+55%); OIBDA at $1,1bn; net income of $463m (+74%). ARPU in 3Q05 declined 26% to $7.8.
Brazil added 15.6m new mobile subscribers up to now in 2005 bringing the total subscriber base at 81,2m.
