CMTS market

CMTS market: Worldwide CMTS revenue rose 25% to $182m in 2Q05, according to Infonetics. The growth is mainly due to gains posted by Cisco and Motorola. Infonetics expects demand will continue for at least the next few years, when annual CMTS revenue will reach $1bn in 2008. Demand is fueled by increasing data capacities, telephony, multimedia, and later, wideband DOCSIS 3.0. Two main suppliers capture 83% of the market: Cisco leads with 62% port market share and 58% revenue share, while Motorola has a 21% revenue market share. Arris is third with 15% market share. 54% of CMTS revenue comes from NA, 22% from APAC, 20% from EMEA, and 4% from CALA.
