4G preparation

China and Japan have decided to collaborate defining what 4G should be. With an IP-based core network and data streams of 20 Mbps to 100 Mbps, 4G is aimed providing customers with anywhere, anytime connection to its data, mails, TV programs, news,…The real target of the move obviously is to be ahead in the race for defining a new worldwide standard. Western countries, isolating former Japanese PDC standard, basically defined 2G and 3G standards. Now, that Asia has become the main regional telecom market, both leading countries, China and Japan, do not want seeing a new technology imposed by western countries. Pragmatically, it is a question of money, royalties, know-how, brand, industrial power and leadership.
