xMAX: a new technology

xMAX could be the technology of future. xMAX is a wireless technology that could supplant WiFi, WiMAX or Bluetooth, as it is simpler and reuses radio frequencies attributed to pagers and TV signals. On those frequencies, xMAX is whispering rather than shouting; so current antennas do not detect the low level of transmission avoiding interferences. Reception is made through special antennas.  The main interest of this technology is that each frequency band can be used twice, but with such low emitting level and in case of success, operators should have to rapidly increase the number of base stations.  XG Technology, which owns xMAX patent, expects fourfold to fivefold coverage improvement vs WiFi or Bluetooth and inexpensive hardware vs WiMAX. A first trial will be conducted in Florida soon.
