Fixed vendor orders
Alcatel announced it received a $20m order from Telecom (Kosovo) to modernize and expand the fixed-line network infrastructure in the province. It also finalized the deployment of the Sea-Me-We 4 and Med Cable submarine networks. Hubei Telecom, which is a subsidiary of China Telecom, has signed a contract with Alcatel to deploy its IP service router. It will also offer high-speed, advanced voice, Internet and IPTV services. Mobistar, mobile operator in Belgium, will use Alcatel DSL solution and become a full-convergent operator. Alcatel will supply 50,000 DSL lines and 34 DSLAMs to Telecom Egypt (TE Data branch) and 30,000 DSL lines to Nile OnLine.
