Fujitsu has been awarded a huge $1.5bn order from Flag Telecom (Reliance) to upgrade its undersea network. The projected link, between France and India and HK, is expected to be completed by 2009-10. Fujitsu will install its Flashwave optical networking solutions in West River Cooperative Telephone Company (USA) network.

NSN will deploy its new Charge@Once Select in Kuwaiti MTC network.

Ericsson will manage and develop Elisa's multivendor enterprise back-office environment in Finland.

Airspan will supply Umniah (Jordan) with WiMAX deployment.

ECI Telecom has been chosen by Bharti Airtel (India) to expand its optical network, and by Uralsvyazinform for deploying broadband access.

Huawei, ZTE and Sagem China (affiliate of Safran of France) will deploy a fiber optic network, called National Optic Fibre Backbone Infrastructure (NOFBI) in Kenya.
