According to Oliver Wyman, VOD has strong perspectives. VOD would generate €500m revenues in 2012 (from current $56m). This is not the conclusion of a Forrester study saying that free VOD would be generalized.

In-Stat forecasts that worldwide broadband customer base would nearly double by 2011 to about 570m. By 2011, worldwide DSL subscribers would account for 58% of all broadband connections, and there would be 55m households using FTTH broadband access.

According to Compass Intelligence, US-based businesses are likely to invest $9bn on mobile apps by 2011.

According to IDC, worldwide shipments of corporate converged mobile devices would grow at a 54% CAGR to reach over 82m units shipped in 2011.

Visant Strategies reports that GSM/GPRS/EDGE growth in emerging economies will maintain investment in legacy mobile switching. Deployments of GSM MSCs will exceed 15,000 in 2011 up from just over 14,000 in 2006, with market value to peak in 2009, by standing at $29bn in 2011. Annual global softswitch sales will reach over $6bn in 2011, with revenues for IP-based and IMS-based gear at the same level in 2011.

Berg Insight forecasts that global shipments of smartphones would reach 113m units in 2007 and 365m units by 2012.

According to Parks Associates, mobile WiMAX would connect 8% of the world' s 1.1bn mobile broadband subscribers by 2012. 52% of these subscribers will be from Asian countries, while North and South America will account for another 28%.
