ð China has shipped some 60m handsets in 1Q05, down 6.5%, according to Research and Markets.

ð The market for macro cellular base stations will increase sharply from 1.8m in 2004 to 3.5m in 2009, reports In-Stat.

ð The number of worldwide cellular subscribers will hit 2.6bn in 2009, up from 1.6bn in 2004, according to In-Stat.
