WiMAX licenses in France

France: Up to now, only one operator (Altitude Telecom) has been granted a broadband wireless license. The French regulator (Arcep) is proposing to grant two WiMAX licenses by region in order to connect people in rural zones where ADSL is not deployed or operational. About 10,000 counties cannot be currently reached by high-speed services.
