Cingular 4Q06 results

Cingular Wireless said its 4Q06 profit grew 285% to $782m and it added 2,4m new subscribers bringing its subscriber base to 61m. ARPU grew 1% to $49.3, while data ARPU grew 53%. 4Q06 revenues were $9.8bn, up 10%., of which $8.8bn in services. Operating income was $1.3bn, up 136%. Capex amounted $2.2bn (down 26%) in the quarter. For the year, Cingular announced revenues of $34.4bn (up 9%), net income of $4.2bn, up 64%, and Capex of $7bn (down 6%).
