The control of Internet traffic is becoming hot

The U.S. government will indefinitely retain oversight of the main computers (root servers) that control traffic on the Internet. The announcement comes as some countries have raised concerns about the US control and pressed to move it to an international body, such as the U.N. International Telecom Union.  A U.N. Committee is precisely to release a report on Internet governance, in preparation of November's U.N. World Summit on the Information Society in Tunisia. The declaration won't immediately affect Internet users, but looks as trench warfare before final assault. What is at stake?  Avoid single internet network breakup into several independent networks with each having its own DNS (Domain Name System) system. If not, it is a disastrous scenario and the end of the internet philosophy.
