Skype changes its business case
Unexpectedly, Skype has changed its business case to follow rivals and fit with customer demand. First Skype has raised its SkypeOut charges for all calls to land-lines and mobiles by €0.039 (new connection fee). For an average Skype user, the increase could be 50%.
Second, call bills were up-to-now time-based, when triple play offers unlimited calling plans within the country. A new offer, called SkypePro, features unlimited calls to fixed numbers for a €2 per month fee plus €0,039 per connection. SkypePro will be available in 24 countries, of which, UK, France, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, Australia, ...
But the real differentiation will be when Skype offers unlimited calls for fixed and mobile numbers within a monthly package.
