Nokia will expand Elisa (Finland) 2G and 3G networks and its HSDPA solution.
Siemens has received an order to expand Orascom Telecom Algeria (Djezzy) GSM network.
Lucent will enhance China Mobile's Tibet Mobile GSM network. It also will expand China Unicom's Inner Mongolian Unicom CDMA network. It will also supply Vietnam Power Telecom (VP Telecom) with phase II CDMA450 network expansion project. Lucent expanded its deal with Telecom New Zealand for its CDMA 1x EV-DO network.
Ericsson will supply $250m worth of equipment and network services to Bharti Tele-Ventures' GSM/GPRS network in rural areas. Ericsson already manages Bharti's GSM/GPRS operations in 15 of 23 regions. Ericsson also will provide additional gear and managed services in 20 more cities for Warid Telecommunications (Pakistan). Warid' s network capacity will be enhanced to 3.5m from current 1.5m. Maxis (Malaysia) plans to use its push e-mail solution, and its video telephone solution. It signed an OEM deal with Arima in Taiwan, to provide its U250 platform for WCDMA/GPRS handsets.
