Leap Wireless reports it had 1.6m mobile subscribers in March.

Brazil: mobile subscriber number reached 73.7m in May, up 40%, on a population of about 182m. GSM accounts for 42% and CDMA for 29%.

DoCoMo (Japan) announced it currently has 13m 3G FOMA subscribers and is adding 1m users a month.

Orascom Iraq (Iraqna) is planning to to expand geographical coverage in Iraq and to reach 1.5m subscribers by the end of 2005 (from current 1m).

BayanTel (Philippines) currently has 227k fixed line subscribers, and about 449k fixed lines installed.

i-mode subscribers reached 50m, of which 45m in Japan.

LATAM had 93m fixed lines (teledensity of 18%) and 172m mobile users( penetration of 33%) at the end of 2004.
