France Telecom 3Q06 results

FT has posted 3Q06 revenues up 1.2% (proforma) to €13.1bn, and a gross operating margin of 37.4% (down 2 points). Revenues breakdown was: mobile division sales were €1.1bn, up 20%, driven by gain in 3G/EDGE customers and a solid performance in Poland; fixed line division sales were up 0.2% to €5.6bn, with declining number of main lines in France (25.6m) and strong growth in ADSL lines up 38.5% to 5.5m (and 9m in Europe); Enterprise sales were €1.85bn, down 1.4%. FT reported a mobile customer base of 92.6m users worldwide (+15.4%), of which 22.5m in France. Mobile broadband users more than doubled to 3.9m at the end of Sept., of which 2.5m are in France. In fixed access, the number of deployed Livebox sharply rose to 3.5m units at the end of September 2006, of which 2.9m in France. This has led to 2.1m VOIP users, of which 1.7m in France, and to 426k IPTV users, of which 421k in France. FT shares rose 2.6% in Paris trading.
