Ericsson is targeting a comeback in the fixed line market and wants to capitalize on network convergence. It expects sales at wireline business to more than double to around $1.5bn in about two to three years.
Alcatel introduced a new GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) solution for fiber-to-the-premises networks and an OmniAccess wireless local area network switch line.
Thomson introduced an end-to-end voice over cable solution combining intelligent gateways and Cirpak softswitch.
