Alcatel announced turnkey triple play win (€ 80m) with Wind in Italy. It reports also a huge deal ($1.7bn for Alcatel) with ATT to equip 19m households in the US by 2008 with the U-Verse project. A third big contract is signed with Telefonica for updating Telefonica' s LATAM networks to all-IP technology. Telekom Austria ordered a triple-play solution from Alcatel and Amdocs.
Lucent will supply its Ethernet Router 15800 to Telefonica for its Imagenio IPTV service. It will provide an All-IP NG network to support ADSL services to Maxis (Malaysia).
NEC will provide 500,000 xDSL lines to Turk Telecom.
Italtel will supply an IP network to Arcor (Germany).
Convergys signed a 5-year deal with BT on billing and customer-care solutions.
Thomson has announced several wins: a VoIP gateway for Fastweb (Italy), triple-play set-top boxes for TV Cabo (Portugal), voice switches for Free (France) .
Ruckus Wireless has been selected by Belgacom to supply in-home "smart Wi-Fi" systems.
Nortel is providing Golden Telecom (Russia) with a mobile WiMAX field trial in Moscow based on its 4G technology. It will also supply Shanghai Telecom with its Carrier Ethernet solution that incorporates Provider Backbone Transport (PBT).
ECI Telecom is providing Atlas Telecom (Romania) with its Hi-FOCuS 5 IP DSLAM platform to support triple-play services.
Siemens will expand Retelit (Italy) optical network with its Surpass hiT 7300 DWDM systems and 40Gbit/s transmission.
