Mobile risk?

According to a new Swedish report, brain tumors are three times more likely in rural areas. In the past few years, a debate opened on mobile radiation impact on human health, without any strong conclusion. Pros and cons alternatively revealed test results feeding their view. Always the main conclusion was that we need more tests.

This new report reveals that time spent on the phone has little impact on the probability to have a brain tumor, but says location has a strong impact. Users in rural areas have three times more probability to develop a brain tumor than urban users. It is due to a difference in power output between mobile phones in urban and rural areas. In rural areas, base stations are widespread in the area, while they are concentrated in urban areas, needing less power to be called.

Swedish scientists, however, added numbers are small. Ouf!!
